after market shifters (this one)
sorry guys my computer was being really dumb, but here is what i wanted to ask..........how would i go about putting and after market shifter on a 96 gt. i am looking at the pro 5.0 shifters. Is this installation going to be hard? should i have someone else do it? or will i be able to do it?

Its is very easy. Should take you less then 30 minutes. Just srew off shift knob, pull up on plastic housing around shifter boot, it should pull straight off, when you get it partly off reach under and disconect the wires to 12v outlet, then pull off. Next, get propper size socket and take out the bolts that hold the rubber dust boot in place, pull it up and out. Now, you should be able to see the 4 bolts holding the shifter to the trans. Take these out and pull up on the shift. Take your time it might be a bit stuck. The install is the reverse of the removal, just put a tad bit of silicon around the top of trans to keep moister out.
