Windshield wipers won't shut off on a 87 200SX. Could be the on/off switch, or someone suggested it might be the relay but we can't find it. Looked all around under the hood, unplugging all the relays we could find, but none of them killed the wipers. Any suggestions of where to look if there even IS a relay? Thanks to all.

Most electronic parts have a relay used for power handling and accepting the use of an in-cabin swith (or lever). If you're having a difficult time finding the relay, open up your car's main fuse panel (either in the engine bay or driver's kickpanel, generally labeling each fuse with a diagram on the underside of the cover) and simply yank the appropriate fuse for the labled wiper. The only other basic neanderthal method I can suggest is shorting out the fuse by overloading the wipers by supplying a high ampere/wattage power source to the wiper's power line. Just a joke, I REALLY don't recommend this, but it could work.

relay locations was Darned Wipers
I am also looking for the location of relays - the turn signal relays.
Typically they are located under the dash but I cannot find them. Does anyone have any clues for us? Thanks in advance for any and all help . . . /David C. |
