How About Those Rims?
Just wondering, those who (still) have the Factory rims, either p10 or p11 cars, how are they holding up? I know it depends on climate and other factors, but I am just starting to get a bit of oxidization happening. But still, not in too bad shape for an under 4 year old car.
I've had other (fine) Japanese cars and some North American ones where the rims would look like SH!T in a matter of a year or two. I know there is also a protective coating of something applied over the rims for extra protection. The rims are very important in appearance to the car and its a shame when this happens. Up here in Canada, it is normal on every car I see. Anyone know exactly how this happens? Thanks. |

I am on stock P10 wheels, and the only problem is that the coating seems to have yellowed a tad, so they don't look so nice with my silver car. I'm looking to upgrade to p11 wheels when I get some more $$.

Sounds good Boingo82, your ride should look pretty hot. I like the P10 rims a lot too, they're cool looking.
P.S. I'm not sure if it is "oxidization" or "oxidation"...oh well. |

I still have my stock p10 wheels. The only thing thats wrong with them is from parellel parking. My mom used to have the car and scarped the shit of off them. otherwise great condition.

I had my stock rims on for about 2 years before i sold them and they were in the same nick as the day i first brought the car. They lasted really well.

The oxidization on my rims is very minimal, and I'm thankful they're holding up sooo good.
I don't want to mention the last car I owned (maybe I'm embarassed) but there was so much oxidization I couldn't see any shiny part of the rim. Heavy... I just got my brakes done... Surely enough, mechanic left 2 nice nicks on rim. I bought my G used ( kinda hard to find many for sale in Toronto ) and previous owner scraped the crap out of the edge of ALL 4 rims, so I'm kinda ok with a few small nicks. Hey, being fussy means having a Mint car, eh? |
