Saga of the dead Ranger

My 1992 Ranger, approximately 125,000 miles, stopped running in mid-November....the problem turned out to be a bad crankshaft sensor.
That was replaced and the truck was running fine until December 8, when again it just quit running. I've replaced the sensor again, had the DIS (Distributorless Ignition System) checked and it's fine. Still no spark to the plugs. I'm going to have the two coils checked today, but I doubt if both would fail at the same time. Anyone have any ideas? Other than the DIS, the sensor, and the two coils, what else controls the spark (other than the computer?).....

thanks

Have you checked your timing belt? This is what broke on mine, with the same symptoms. The only good thing about this is that the timing belt breaking will not hurt these motors, they are non-interference.

Re: Saga of the dead Ranger

Timing belt is new......and timing is dead on. Yep, thought of that also, so made sure it was correct.
