outer tie rod ends

Hello. I just did the front brakes today on my 99 grand prix gt. Car only has 85,000 miles on it but I noticed the rubber boots on the outer tie rod ends were completely collapsed and torn on both side of the car. I dont notice any looseness or anything in the steering while driving but I guess I should replace them asap since there is obviously no grease in them and there is no grease fitting to keep them greased till spring time.(very cold up here in jersey) So that brings me to my question. I have been searching online for replacements and have found soooo many different prices and brands could someone recommend a good quality brand to use? Which one is the best quality? TRW, MOOG, etc. Thanks!

Re: outer tie rod ends

Either of the brands you mention in your post are good. You can check rock-auto.com or gmpartsdirect.com if you find the local prices too high. Just remember to have the car aligned once you replace them. Also, I would wait for spring before changing them. If the front end is tight leave it alone as you won't cause any other issues. If you start getting a vibration or notice anything in the front end then change them out at that time.
