Brake Lights

I need some help. I have a 2005 Crown Vic. This morning, I noticed that my brake lights will not go off, even after the car is turned off. I have checked the brake fluid...there is plenty. Anything else that I could be missing. I thought maybe something in the brake pedal area. Thanks.

Re: Brake Lights

Sounds like the brake light switch is not completely shut off. It is located where the brake pedal meets the rod going out of the dash to the power booster.

Any way to fix it other than replacing it?

Re: Brake Lights

Try pulling up on the pedal. If lights go out you may be able to adjust it so it turns off. If you can not get the lights to go off, either replace the brake switch ot look at the connector to see if the wires are touching.
