New tires for the Envoy-What to get?
2002 Envoy 4WD- Original tires with close to 50,000 miles on them. Will be replacing them soon but want your input as far as what to get. 99.9% of the driving is on smooth hard surfaced roads. One problem I would like to try and fix with the Envoy is the noise. This vehicle is simply not very quiet. It's noisy. Now I know that the tires can make all the difference when it comes to noise. When I read reviews on tires some will say a tire is noisy and the next person will say that the tire is very quiet. Have been doing a little research on the Kelly(made by Goodyear, didn't know that)Springfield tire called the "Safari Trex". It says it's made in such a way that makes the tire "very quiet" and it will go 50,000 miles and has all around good traction. Anyone have a set of these and if not what tire would you recommend? Thanks!

Interesting page. They didn't have any reviews for the Kelly tire but the Goodyear Triple Tred was judged the best. I could not find one negative review for this tire. Thanks for the info!

Re: New tires for the Envoy-What to get?
at 80,000 miles I replaced the Michelin Cross Terrains with another set of Michelin Cross Terrains. I dont care what you buy - you aint gonna get 80,000 miles out of a set of OEM installed tires.
However I wont lie- I almost went with the Firestone Destination's or the Cooper Discover's. The more I thought about it though, Im glad I chose Michelin.

Re: New tires for the Envoy-What to get?
I thought long and hard about this. I had the Michelin AT's (OEM) and I simply destroyed them after 40,000 miles. That is pretty good. But I ended up going with the Bridgestone REVO AT. It is a wonderful tire. I have put 30,000 on these already and they hardly show any wear. I would have to give my "thumbs-up" for this tire. They were a little noisy at first, btw. Just a little. But I went a size larger than the OEM tire and they are so great in rain, snow and off-road I cannot believe it. A friend recommended after puitting on his Chevy Silverado and he is having equally good success.Good luck!

Destination LE, great tire, looks good, and quieter than the Goodyear Fortera's I had on before. I had them on my older Suburban as well. Great value.
