93 5.0 $400 Good Deal??? Advice???

I found a 93 T-bird in my area with the 5.0 and about 150,000 miles.

thing is, it hasnt run in a year and a half. guy says it just need a new battery and a couple new tires. Also body-wise it is missing the front bumper, and probably could use paint.

He said that when parked the engine and trans were perfect.

He is willing to go as low as $400. Does this seem like a good deal? or could there be so many hidden dangers (old gas, altenator, brakes, fuel pump,....) that I sould steer clear?

Any advice before I start drueling over having another 5L would be great.

Thanks
Andy

Hey well I dont know if this helps but I just bought a 85 t-bird with 40,000 miles on it, it had been sitting for about 1 1/2 and the lady want $800 for it but I told her $500 because she said that it needed a new transmission and that was it so I got the car. It needs new tires, trany needed some work not to bad so i got that fixed for pretty cheap but the gas tank neeeded to be dropped and let the gas out of the system and flush the whole system of all the bad fluids in it and it had a lot of water damage to the motor i had to get a new fuel regulator, carborator, blown header, bad pistons, oil leak in the block and heater core is cracked, and needed a new battery all together total cost of repairs was about $4,000 and some change. In the long run it was worth it cause the car is in mint condition now not scratch on it.
Well I hoped this helped but just make sure that the only things that are wrong are the things he told you.

Thanks that did help. I decided to stay clear. If I'm scratching my head about $400 now, I have NO right to even be considering a project car, and this is not not mint.
