How hard would it be to build a really fast Yugo?

This would be a really interesting project that I might get into if I knew more about cars. Take a late 80's Yugo GV, and replace the engine with a much better one. Which engines would fit? Obviously a large engine like the LS1 would not fit, but there have to be plenty of engines that would fit that would make this car run the quarter mile in under 13 seconds. The important thing is that the car HAS to look completely stock so that no one knows it's fast. Imagine pulling up to some guy in a Camaro SS or a WRX STI and leaving him in the dust. Ouch that would hurt. What's everyone think?

Go for it with a new sub frame and some firewall work you could certainly get a strong V8 in there.

There was somebody who made a mid engined V8 Yugo some years ago...

Out of the box, a Fiat X1/9 Engine will bolt right in, giving you 1.5 liters instead of 1.1, and you could always bore that out, and mill the heads for much much more performance.
