rear ended=true/

is it true that a crown vic is more dangerous than average for rear end accidents? is it true the dealer sells some kind of add-on fuel tank
shield that helps alot?

Well, yeah its true. And thats pretty much all of them. Its because of the way they designed the car, The Fuel tank is right behind the rear axle. And in a "really intence" rear collision, the fuel tank would get pearced by the axle, creating a very bad result. But this isn't always true, thats why I put "really inctence" in quotes, beacause a CV also has rear shocks to deflect and cushion rear collisions. But if its a really bad hit, its gonna be ugly.

The recall covered all CVPI that were still in "Police" service. I don't care what you are driving if you get assended at a high rate of speed chances are the fuel tank may rupture. The ones that made the news were all extremely high speed rear end collisions.
