new 2000 Kia Sephia owner

I am picking up a 2000 Sephia with 88500 on the clock next week. Was told that it will be able to drive on the car carrier, but he does not think it would make it 50 miles to my place. Anyway, its an automatic, has anyone had the same simptoms, here is what the seller sent me"The trans starts to slip and the computer store some codes so it seems that the trans will go soon or later , the car has good 4 cyl. 1.8L engine with 88,500 miles on it and no problems at all" Will get more information and codes when I pick it up. Thanks for your assistance. Bob

Re: new 2000 Kia Sephia owner

i recently bought a 2000 sephia and the trans was slipping, i changed the trans filter and fluid. the fluid was so burnt it looked like used motor oil, ive had no problems with it since. could be something to try, for relitivly cheap price.
