Cracked dash / seat belt

Hey i have a 2000 cavalier z24. My car is mint except that damn piece of plastic up by the windshield finally decided to crack like all the other cavaliers. I dont want to spend $115 on a replacement piece. How do i go about removing it? I plan to glue strips of plastic to the backside to add strength.

Also my seat belt- the plastic piece(button) that hold the metal buckle from sliding down to the floor when not in use has broken off..... Where can i get a replacement one of those?

Thanks Derek

Re: Cracked dash / seat belt

as far as fixing the crack in your dash, i belive you have to remove the ENTIRE dash, its all one giant piece of plastic once you remove the front pieces

Tan dash in background is one solid piece that has to be removed if you want to repair it. I have to do it to that one since the a-pillar cracked the corner from the roll over i got my donor car so cheap from.

Re: Cracked dash / seat belt

in regards to the seat belt. You can goto autozone and order the little button thing.... its part number 74357 in the HELP parts. ITs 14.99 for two of them. ridiculous for the 25 cent parts but it really pisses me off that the belt thing goes to the floor so i paid the price!!!! Its a special order so it takes a few days to get here. Thanks for the pic of the dash... looks like way more work then i intend to put into fixing a crack.....
