This muffler says it has a 2.5 inch inlet.
Does an escort have a 2.5 inch exhaust?

It depends on the year and engine size. What is it? 1991 to 1996 1.9 L SOHC have an inlet diameter of 1 7/8 inches.

My escort has a 2.5" exhaust. but, I put it on myself. The LX had the 1 7/8, and the GT had 2", but 2.5 is way overkill unless you're super- or turbocharged.

2.25 is about the max you want to go on an NA engine, and that is even too big sometimes. If you want any performance increase DO NOT use that muffler. If all you're after is looks and loud noises, go right ahead...
