Re: 2000 daytona GTP VERY rough acceleration

Welcome to AF

A little more info would be helpful

Any CEL and if so, what codes?
How many miles and/or how long has it been since it was tuned up?

Re: 2000 daytona GTP VERY rough acceleration

post the codes when you get them pulled. It will help us narrow it down. We could speculate all day, as there are a lot of things that will cause rough acceleration.

Re: 2000 daytona GTP VERY rough acceleration

Damn...i'm waking up..more to add b4 codes... I have a hole in the exhaust after the catalayic converter. Not sure if that make a diff or not. I guess it depends on what sensor is messed up....IF that's what it is.
I guess I should add that it will occasionally stall as I slow down for a light, or to turn. If I give a bit of gas as I turn its ok. As I said this only happens occasionally.
Codes will be posted tues morn,as I cant get reader until then.

3 codes on my 2000 gtp..rough accel and idle

I found 3 codes ...
PO716 input/turbine speed sensor circuit range performance
PO102 Mass or volume circuit low input
PO742 Torque convertor clutch circuit stuck on

As posted before it accelerates very rough at times and SC kicks in right away. it is intermittent though. The same would apply to idling.
Driving me CRAZY. help!!!!

live wire,

Your two similar threads/posts have been merged together. Please keep what appears to be the same issue(s) limited to one thread. We do not allow multiple threads because it is a disservice to the members that have replied to your previous thread and confusing. Your cooperation is appreciated.

BE COURTEOUS: AVOID DUPLICATE POSTS
Do not post the same discussion more than once on a discussion forum or on many forums. Duplicate discussions can be frustrating for other members, especially for those whose time and energy is limited. Weeding through the same discussion in multiple locations can be not only frustrating, but down right annoying. Duplicate discussions will be deleted. Reposting the same message repeatedly can be interpreted as SPAM and could result in the loss of your membership. Also be conscious of your fellow members and avoid making meaningless posts for the sole purpose of increasing your post count.

Re: 2000 daytona GTP VERY rough acceleration

So can anybody explain what the code PO742 is? and what I need to do to fix it? I went to have a smog inspection and the tech was on crutches. His foot sliped of the gas peddle twice and caused the check engine light to come on with this code. I erased it and it has'nt come back up but if I can check it out it would be nice before I take it back in Thanks George

Sorry but please check the date and do not resurrect old threads. Any over 3 months old. Best to start a post addressing your issue and you'll most likely get a timely answer. Also, do a search for "P0742" which is well covered in this forum. This thread has been closed.
