Transmission needs rebuilt!

We have 2 2000 GMC vehicles. A Sierra and a Yukon. We have already rebuilt the transmission in the Sierra and now are having to rebuild the transmission in the Yukon. Both went out at around 90000 miles. Has anyone else experienced this with a 2000 GMC? I find it hard to believe that both just happened to need to be rebuilt.

Re: Transmission needs rebuilt!

I was stopped at a red light and when it turned green I pressed the gas and heard a horrible grinding noise. I immediately pulled over and turned off the engine. When I turned it back on and put it in reverse the grinding noise started again. I turned it off again and had it towed to Aamco. They are the ones that rebuilt the transmission in our Sierra. He said it needed to be rebuilt. It gave me no warning signs prior to today. Where as when the transmission went out in the Sierra, it would shift real hard from first to second.
