Suspension maintenance

I own a 98 MGM and I am planning to replace the shocks. Does anyone recommend any particular brand or type. I feel the current suspension is kinda stiff - I can feel all the little imperfections of the streets.
Any other suspension parts you recommend to be replaced?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Suspension maintenance

FYI,
The top of the rears are almost impossible to get to. I fought them for a couple of hours before I took it to a shop and paid them to install them.

Re: Suspension maintenance

in my 90 the PO had me install police spec HD Ford units. yes he is a freind of mine. no problems and they are fairly inexpencive. IMHO i would stay FAR away from Monroes. i had em in a couple cars and withing 8 months they were shot. so. just something to think about.
