rear heater does not blow hot air 2002 envoy

Another problem...the air that blows out of the roof and floor vents in the rear of my 02 Envoy is either ice cold if I try to turn it on using the control in front or it blows slightly warmer if I use the rear controls....any ideas? Thanks a lot.
