How many rpms can an 86 crown handle, its got the 5.0. i am going to put performer rpm stuff on it. Will the engine handle 6500 rpms?

with the right parts (cam, rods, etc) you could run it that hard but you will be out of your highest power curve. why do you want to turn it so hard?

Because the rpm range for the performer rpm ends at 6500, I am going to use a performer rpm manifold, cam, and a reguler performer carb, with longtubes and ported e7 heads. I was wondering if the oem vic shortblock can handle it. |

i can't say for sure that it would hold up to that abuse but you power actually begins to drop off in the high rpms... your cam spec should tell you max range for power.... if the engine was balanced with upgraded rods it would be better for the higher rpm... even then though you get out of your curve for making the most power
