We just recently purchased a 96 JGC Laredo and there seems to be a whining sound that's coming from the engine area. It increases with the vehicle's rpms up to about 25mph and then you hear it again as it's almost completely declerated.
We owned a Dodge Spirit in the past and had a similar "whine" on that vehicle as well. We were told it was just a "Dodge Thing" and that it would not cause a problem. Is this something that should be taken care of, or is it just a common noise in this vehicle?? |

Re: "Engine" Whining Sound
Which engine do you have in your JGC? Is it the kind of whine like a belt is loose or more of a vacuum sound?

Re: "Engine" Whining Sound
My 02 overland has that noise too. I'm trying to figure what the hell that noise is. Mine also has a whirling noise when coasting in neutral so I'm kinda having a hard time determining what it is exactly. I get that whining whirl too when its almost decelerated. Let me know if you find a solution or if its normal. Thanks!
