Post F.y.i

Anyone else been having problems with there illumination light for the dash (Interior light switch, Rear wiper switch, O/D off, heater control, etc....) not illuminating.

Well I have been having this problem for awhile, even on my last ZJ I had this problem. Well my problem was with the bulbs, sometimes they would work sometimes hey would not - bad filament. So I replaced them got some bulbs from radio shack (bulbs #7219 - 12v 60mA, wire terminal) and they work now. I still need to replace the bulbs for the heater control switches I think these are different sizes (just like the one for the headlight switch, was a different size). But I will get some bulbs to replace them and post which bulbs worked.

Joe

Re: F.y.i

Well I couldn't find a bulb that fits for the heater controls. If anyone knows of a bulb let me know.

Re: F.y.i

On my '94 Jeep GC the heater control bulbs went out (two bulbs in the control console) and the dealer said they were $65 (each? - I didn't bother to ask). They look like Christmas tree lights (plastic housing with a bulb that fits in where two wires go through the housing and bend around). I went to Radio Shack and although I didn't find the right size I found two smaller bulbs - about half-size, so I put two bulbs in each housing. That was about 4 years ago and it's worked fine since then. I think I spent $2. I don't recall the mili-amp rating on them, but I seem to recall it was printed on the original bulb and I used that as my guide.

i too replaced the bulbs on my heater and air condition controls and i just went to my local auto parts store and they turned out to be the smallest bulbs that they had in stock. there is three of them and i think altogether i also spent about $2. i went to an Advanced Auto Parts if you have one near you. they definitely carry the bulbs for the heater/air condition controls
