93 grand am no headlights

hello all well my lights have been giving me problems in the past but if i turned them on before starting car everything was fine, if not no headlights and stereo would go blank, after 10 15 min trouble lights would flash and stereo would reset but no lights. This weekend went to turn on lights nothing ,no chime,no dash,no radio, turn signals and flashers work, all fuses are good, have to check the big 20,checked and cleaned grounds to headlights and under dash on steering column. took out multifunction switch and cleaned inside,di electric grease and installed still nothing ,my turn signals and flashers work, i will get new fuse and reclean multifunction but do you think i need a new multifunction or could it possible a low battery? thanks for any help

Hmmm. Have you looked into your relay on your car? I know on my old G/a the relay went out causing no lights, no chime, no radio, but the signals still worked... I would keep that in mind as an option...

Yeah the relay under the hood.... if that doesn't work bring the car to an exorcist! j/k By any chance did you put a new radio into the car recently before all of this started to happen?

Re: 93 grand am no headlights

Check your battery, sounds like its low or dead.
Should be at least 12.5-13volts.

Re: 93 grand am no headlights

Their's no MFS alarm.
You must have a short somewhere if things are intermitantly working.
Which can happen when youre wiring up a stereo, if its wrong the dash lights might not work or can get burnt out cicuits.

Thier is a module for the door/key chimes, its on the drivers side, small black box with a vent looking thing on the side.

Did you check/test your relay for the lights ?
And are all the fuses good ... ?
