96 Continental (any help appriciated)

I have the same problem with my stereo I think. I just bought the same car with the JBL sytem in it and it illuminates but there is nothing coming up on the stereo display. I have no sound or anything. I checked all the fuses, checked all wiring for current, and I even swapped out the stereo with a spare. But to my dismay here I am on the net for hours searching for answers.....and I was wondering did you ever find out if it was the RCU? Thats my guess but iom not sure. Tomorrow if its warm enough Ill take out my dads RCU from his Lincoln and try it out in mine.
