Re: 97 with turning issues any advise?
hey again, I got that transfercase changed. The car turns great. With the case I also put 4 new tires on the car, which I learned is very important with these full time all wheel drive vehicles. All the tires need to be identicle(make, model, and wear), and rotated every 6000 miles.
The old case came out easily and the new one went in even easier. I used a company based out of Oakland called transfercase espress. (www.transfercases.com) They were great. They have everything at amazing prices. The only problem I seem to still be having is when I try to put the transfercase in neutral or 4Low it grids when the transmission is put in gear. If I really throw and force the transfercase lever I sometimes can get it without grinding. I am sure this is only a problem with the linkage not fully enguaging the transfercase, but I really dont know how to make the adjustments. I will gladely accept any advise in this issue. Thanks for all the help. The car turns great. NO skipping, hopping, or squeeling AT ALL. Also there is no noise comming from under the car. |

Re: 97 with turning issues any advise?
Try shifting it while moving, 2-3mph. I just had the same problem with a 96 with only 80,000miles on it. I ended up kicking the quadra-trac case to the curb and went with a selec-trac, better case with 2wd and part-time 4d added.
