1998 Cont. Seat / Wind. Malf

I moved the Drivers seat all the way forward and the fuse blew, I replaced the fuse and it blows right away with nothing on. I lost all four windows if I try using any other window button the drivers door Computer will click. Any ideas ?

Thanks

I'd start with the wires under the seat. (if you can still get at them)
Unplug the seat harness connectors to see if the fuse still blows with the seat dis-connected.

Re: 1998 Cont. Seat / Wind. Malf

I could only reach one plug on the front motor the problem was still there. I can see a black box about 4" square that has three wire harneses going in to it, I assume it might contain relays not that I could get to it anyway. let me know if you think of anything else. I also disconnected the Batt. for about 10 min. with no change.

Thanks...

Re: 1998 Cont. Seat / Wind. Malf

Update I finally found the main wire harness on the back left corner was being pinched it took two minutes pulling on it to get the thing unstuck now the hard part will be checking how damaged the wire is I might have to pull the seat but at least everything works again. Thanks for the help.

Glad you found the problem..

This should serve as a warning to the rest of us, or at least the rest of us that have a 1998...

Hope the repair goes well... opcorn:
