Lookin into buying a 1994 PGT
well their is this probe gt its a 1994 5 spd, has 140K, no rust i live in Wisconsin so this is close to amazing, very clean car, needs rear brakes as well as o2 sensor which causes check engine light to come on as told by owner, im actually probaly goin to trade for my car a 626 LX, but if not most likely buy it for about $1800 is this a good deal, how good of cars are probes i heard their fast but not good for racing cuz they get mest up quickly...Thanks To anyone dat helped me out in advance, Manny...

Re: Lookin into buying a 1994 PGT
Sounds like a reasonable price. Check to see if the distributor has been replaced, Probes are notorious for them failing. The O2 sensor you mentioned should be replaced asap. I just drove with the CE light on for a year or so. The computer puts the engine into a running rich mode, which will kill the catalytic converter in no time. The rear brakes are no big deal but the calipers have a habit of seizing, requiring replacement, so you may wish to check that out as well. As for racing, if it is an original engine, are you seriously going to race a 13 year old car? The motor loves to rev but you are asking for it if you really put it to a car with high mileage.
