Running without fender liners?

Hey guys...would it be bad to run around without the black fender liners in the wheel well?...

yeah cuz they are what prevents dirt and water from gettin into the engine compartment. you could prolly get away without it, but they are obviously there for a reason

your're taking about the thin plastic around the primeter of the fender, right? if so, you dont really need it, but it's best to have it on there to protect from pebbles and rocks shooting up from the tire. some lowerend cars don't come with one especially for the rear.

2002 WRX MT- TEIN HA's with upper pillow mounts, 1000Miglia HT3 17x7 with sumitomo HTR+ 225/45/17, painted side skirts, Cusco front & rear strut bar, Whiteline rear swaybar, aluminum endlinks, Blitz NUR Catback, HKS seq. BOV, factory front lip, rear valance, Kartboy short shifter and bushings.

Future mods: dressup wheels with Potenza S03 225/45/17 tires, TurboXS UTec, maybe an uppipe. by then, it'll be fast enough.

Yah...under the two wheel wells, there is a black plastic piece that runs from about the front of each door all the way to the bumper up front...nothing would *really* get into the engine comp...but i guess sand and stuff can get kicked up underneath...
