You don't say if your 940 is a turbo or not.
iPd is probably one of the best places www.ipdusa.com

Additionally there are many Volvo forums that can offer a lot of advice and experience on modifications, check:

That should keep you reading for a while.

Probably the best and easiest modification would be to find a Volvo Turbo engine and install that. It is much easier to install an existing turbo engine than to convert your engine to a turbo. If you did not want to go to that extreme the VX3 cam and a free flowing exhaust will add a noticable increase in power.

Yeah I am trying to find a 850 turbo or even better a R or T5-R in the best case. But any other tips you can give are welcomed and appriciated. Thanks

Re: Performance parts for a 1991 940

umm, the 850 and the T5 are front wheel drive cars. You have a "red block" motor.

Check out this Volvo performance site. The red block motors are what volvo built its reputation on. I have a 185,000 mile 86 740 turbo that runs 15.6 in the quarter mile. All I have done to it is install a 1/4 inch T in the wastegate line which ups the HP to 190.
