Question '88 350 MAF Replacement options

Well I need a MAF sensor, and I am not too willing to pay over $50 for it. What are my options, if any? Is it possible to convert to a newer year's maf at all?

Used ones are hard to come by. Saw one on eBay last week, I knew I should have just bid I have a buddy who says he has one that he'll give me for $20, but he can't find it so far.

Haven't tried the junkyards yet, don't know if I want to. Just getting the car ready for winter, haven't driven it since last winter. In that time, the alternator went out (lifetime warranty ftw!), maf sensor, and the wiper assembly...just from sitting there pretty much (aside from me starting it weekly/bi-weekly).

If anyone has a working one on here and wants to sell let me know also.

$50 won't even get you a junk MAF. Are you sure it is the MAF senor that is bad? Have you replaced the MAF power and burnoff relays?
Your only real options are a rebuilt MAF (around $150) a Wells MAF (about $180 and they usually don't work as good as stock) Convert from MAF to speed density, MAP sensor (over the $150 for a replacement MAF)

ugh, hate putting any money in that car, i don't have any for it. Relays are good, checked them with a voltmeter, and just to make sure I took the MAF out and put it in a buddies Formula and his wouldn't run with it.

So I can convert huh? Is there a write up on this somewhere? What will I need, besides the obvious Map sensor?

Just an update: Replaced the MAF (and the alternator which went bad) and now it runs like a champ.
