Tribute Build Richard Burns/Robert Reid Subaru Legacy Elonex

Well the Subaru Legacy is finally finished.I am really quite pleased with the way it turned out.Making all the decals myself was quite frustrating at times but it was worth it in the end.Overall the Hasegawa kit is very good and very straightforward to assemble. It's a shame there aren't more of them being built. The only area of concern is the fit of the front lights, they seem a little too big for the openings and I had to sand them to make them fit.For my next project I am thinking along the lines of an older F1 model, perhaps 1970's era but I'm not sure yet. Here's the finished pictures of the Subaru.Comments welcome as always.Enjoy the pictures and thanks for looking. Also a big thanks to Sasa Jelic for sending me the red mud flap material.

For those of you that are interested the body was painted Zero Pure White and the decals were cleared with Zero 2K clearcoat. The wheels were painted Alclad Gold. All the black trim was painted with Vallejo Air Satin black.

Looks clean! The homemade decals look sharp! Did it involve a lot of photoshop work/ copy and paste logos?

Great model.

I already followed your build in the WIP section with interest and the finished model looks just perfect.

It's nice to see a Subaru in another colour...
And although making your own decals might have been frustrating, they look perfect. If you hadn't told us you made them yourself, I'd be tempted to ask where you bought them...

Superb stuff !!!

Congrats Steve!
Now that you can make your own decals is a great plus.

I really enjoyed watching the WIP and the end result is equally satisfactory.
Thanks for sharing.

Excellent as always Steve - a great tribute. I had the pleasure of seeing this car in real life at the Castle Combe rally day a few years ago, and you have done it justice.

Grant.

Nice build, the car looks so plain compared to current Subies
