I resently purchased a 94 chev s10 p.u.4x4 5sp 4.3l with rear drum brakes. The ABS light stays on. brakes and speedometer work fine. I do not have any experience with this vehicle and need direction to locate the problem.any other tips concerning this vehicle would be appreciated.

ABS lites come on all the time do to bad plugs and brake dust buildup. All 4 wheels will have a plug near the rotor or drum. take the drums off clean the up oil it and see if it goes out. If not try taking off the battery termnal a few mins. hookt it back up turn the key on pump the gas three times and this should rest the computer and then maybe it will stay off.

After repairing exposed BK. sensor wire front wheel, and cleaning rust, debris all brakes, ABS Lt. finally stayed off , after driving about 400 miles. today replaced stuck open thermostat, and flushed coolant. now theres plenty of heat at vents. changed oil, runs good now. thanks all for help. It appears that GM used several different configurations with this vehicle.
