Angry i need help asap.....

i was driving on the highway yesterday and my car engine just started reving.
it was like the car put itself in neuturl. also when i came to a stop at a red light the car would put itself in reverse. about 3 weeks before all of the stuff started my engine started making a loud knocking noise, it still makes that same noise now... i don't know what to do... i think iam going to have to get a new transmisson

I had a similar problem with my 2001 LE neon, it came out to be that I was low on transmission oil, I refilled it stopped that problem!!!
