2005 Aztek
Nothing much here but some minor info that I will update periodically.
For starters I own this, bought it for my wife here in Alaska, its AWD of course, last week was the very first repair done to it that being resurfacing of the rear rotors and new brake pads, cost her about $280. I heard about it later and kinda pissed me off cause I have been a mechanic for most of my life and brake jobs for the most part are a piece of cake but in her own way of loving me because two weeks ago I severely crushed the little finger of my right hand and i have been on Workmans Comp for it she did not want me to work on it, oh well its her money but my car! She did get a crack in the windshield a year ago but its way at the bottom running horizontally. The only mods I did was to install HID lamps and ballasts in the low beams and replace the fog lights with 100watt 3000K amber bulbs. This is a good car for Alaska, it was more affordable than a Subaru, has way more room and sturdier in case of a moose collision, and it turns in its own shadow! My gripe when I drive it is its realy noisy compared to my 2002 Silverado 3500 dually, I mean it just reverberates the road noise terrible. maybe its the short wheelbase i dunno but otherwise I kinda like it and soon I am going to put a little christmas gift under it literally for her a complete changing LED light tube system that changes to sound or by the programmer. I see all these othe SUVs and I know they are like $40K or so, this little Aztek with its unique quaint body style will stay with us for awhile.
