Re: Driver's door stuck in locked position!

Welp, success!

Didn't really see the bird-mouth type thing you referred to, but after getting so frustrated with this (and admittedly taking a break from it), I decided to poke my head and hands into the door once again. After messing around in there for awhile, my breakthrough was disconnecting the power lock motor.

Once I did that, I could use the metal rod to unlock the door (don't ask why this didn't work when I tried it with the door all together and simply disconnected the battery, maybe the rod was out of place at that time, hwho knows) and was finally able to open my door. Looks like the connector to that motor got cooked/burnt a bit, not sure whether it's a result of the door locking itself, or whether it's the cause, but either way.. It's disconnected till I can get a replacement power lock motor to hook up and see what happens.

Oddly, the key does not lock the door, but it does UNlock it. So I have to manually flip the lock on the drivers side, hit the button to lock the other doors.. Then to get in, I can use the keypad to unlock pass/sliding door, and have to use the key to unlock mine. hehe, but at least it works!

Sadly, I'll be posting a new topic here as while I joyously drove my bus to the emissions inspection, it failed! (sighs)

Also, in the month it sat, amazingly my rear ac decided to stop working as well. Unbelievable. But at least I don't have to slide across from the passenger side anymore, what a pain that was.. (and the rear ac/fan not a huge issue with it getting colder out, though heat WOULD be nice, I'll get to that when I can, lol). First though, emissions....

Tnx to all for the motivation and assistance you've all offered. Really appreciate it, and without those comments, I'd have probably just left it the way it was and hated every minute of it!
