brand new kia, lemon? help!!

i bought a brand new kia sorrento 06, in january of this year with less than 100 miles on it. it now has about 3500 miles on it. since the purchase, i have had it in the shop 3 times (right now is the 3rd). the car is making a clicking noise after i have been driving it for a while (maybe after 15 min or so). at first it seems to happen only when i turn left, but as i drive it becomes louder and more fequent. it then seems to happen just about every time i go over a bump turn right or even break. it really sounds like an axle is going bad, but the timing of the clicking isn't consistant with an axle. the first time i had it in the shop, they said it was the bumper (or something) was rubbing on the wheele when i turned, so they loosened it. the noise continued. i brought it in a second time, and they said it was the sway bar. they ordered the part and called me back a week later to have it replaced. the noise was still there. i finally called the shop back and told them i wanted to take them on a test drive myself. i left my house 30 min early so i could make sure my car was warmed up and they would hear the noise. the guy i took for a drive was amazed and perplexed, claiming he hadn't heard that noise before. he had no idea what it was. he said you can't really jear it outside, but it is really loud inside. it sounds like it is comming from the front drivers side. he said he could hear it in the rear dirvers side while he was standing outside the car. then he put his hands on the top of the door frame and rocked the car back and forth which produced the noise again.

what could this problem be? do i have a lemon? how long should i let this go on until i request a replacement car? am i allowed to ask for a replacement or am i stuck with this p.o.s? HELP!

Lemon laws vary between states. Check your laws.

Find a more competent dealer. It has become difficult to get good techs anymore because the manufacturer doesnt pay warranty work very well.

I think you may have a wheel bearing issue. I had a Sorento with a mysterious noise and it turned out to be a bearing.

A shop that has a set of Electronic Chassis Ears would be a big help.

Re: brand new kia, lemon? help!!

Right after I had a few extra things put on mine, I started having this noise, 1st when I turned and then all the time and you could feel it on the passengers side. My husband start looking around and I had running boards put on my Sorento about 1.5 months before and sure enough, that is what it was. A bolt had broke and it was making this awful noise. If you have running boards, you might check that out. My husband did the same thing, shake the car and it made that noise. They appeared to be tight, but not when you are driving. Hope this is what your problem is.
