zerex G05 ok w/prestone extnd life?

Hey guys, tell me if I have to flush my cooling system. When shop did my intake gaskts they topped off the system w/G05, is it ok, it aint bad as dexcool right?

Hard to say but IMO they should not have done that if you still had any Dex-cool in the system. The Zerex G-05 is a hybrid coolant based on a modified organic acid technology just like Dex-cool, however, I see no reference where you can mix the two. However, G-05 is approved by Ford and Daimler-Chrysler for use in their engines and like Dex-cool it is an extended life 5/150 coolant.

Had the shop used the Prestone Extended Life 5/150 (yellow bottle) you'd probably be OK since Prestone claims their coolant can be mixed with any brand. Just to be safe you might consider draining the old coolant out and then flush the system. Stick with the Prestone EL 5/150 like many of us do.
