97 prope gt distributor

Ok, so i have a 97 probe gt that doesnt start and i am almost positive it is the distrubutor. I had a friend of mine who is a ford mechanic check it out and he agrees. I was looking at prices for them and they are ridiculous. I am wondering if anyone has one for sale that they can send next day or if anyone knows of some cheap places to buy them. I cant really afford the 300+ they want at auto part stores. THanks for the help.

Re: 97 prope gt distributor

I reccomend doing away with the troublesome stock ignition setup, and replacing it with this modification. It's cheaper than replacing the distributor and much more reliable.

The ford probe uses a mazda engine. Check with Nopi about prices for a pickup. You could also check Napa. I doubt you need a rebuilt distributor. Some junkyards such as U-pull it sell used Dist. cheaply.
