need a little help

yo whats up dudes?? i just got a 2002 mitsubishi eclipse gt. i like the stock exhaust it has a pleasing sound even though its factory. But im looking to get an aftermarket exhuast for it. ive been told to get either greddy or magnaflow. but i want it to have a nice sound along with improved performance...any ideas which one would be better to fit what im looking for??? thanks

Re: need a little help

When you say Greddy are you talking about the EVOII?
I have the EVOII and I think it sounds awesome. From what I have read the EVOII is alittle louder then the MagnaFlow but I've personally never heard it before. Also I'm pretty sure MagnaFlow is a 1/4" in. smaller piping then the EVOII.

Re: need a little help

It does add some performance but not enough that your gonna really notice.

Re: need a little help

I bought a Borla Exhaust for my car. It gave me a deep sound, that wasn't too loud. So if you're looking for something that's similar to your stock one, then I would suggest that. I wouldn't say that it gave me too much of an increase in power though...no exhaust will really do that by itself.

Re: need a little help

no exhaust will give you noticeable power. (well hardly noticeable)

As drifter said, no cat-back exhaust is gonna give you a noticeable increase in peformance. If you want a noticeable difference get some new headers and a ECU reflash along with the cat-back.
Also you may want to check out the "The Comprehensive Guide to Modifying Your 3g."

I think you will be happy with the EVOII. It looks great and sounds even better!!!
If your looking for a good price on it, try wesellcarparts.com
They had the best prices when I bought mine but this was about a year ago I think.
