SI engine with auto tranny

my frend's sellin me an si engine at a very low price but i hav an auto dx hatch. can i still drop it in and if i can would i need to upgrade my auto tranny? if i do, can i mate it with an auto ls tranny?

You need to give us more info, like years and engine sizes. However, I wouldnt advise mating a newer SI motor, if thats what you are talking about, to a DX tranny.

im gonna assume he is refering to like an 88-91 SI engine to an 88-91 DX

b16a2 with 00 dx hatch thats an auto. would i need to upgrade to a better auto tranny (i dont want a manual)?

you would need si trany which will have to be the 5sp. cuz I don't think the integra ls trany would fit and your "D" series motor trany would not fit for sure. You will also need axles, engine mounts, ecu, wire harness. It is a full eng. swap. You can not drop in the b16a2 with out upgrading everything else. Because you are going from a "D" series motor to a "B" so everithin is different. Good luck. Stefan525

all b series tranny bolts on to each other

all b series tranny bolts on to each other if your going to swap your engibe jus get a new auto b series tranny:frog:
