01 Sable-left lights on drained battery now won't take jump,theft light comes on

Hi,
Lights were left on and drained battery...now when I go to jump it nothing happens except the theft light flashes on and off when I turn the key. everything is dead as well as remote key button won't work and trunk button will not work.
Is this some sort of reset of the alarm that needs to happen?

Quick question for you.

How long did you leave the jumper cables hooked up b4 you tried to turn it over?

If it was less than 2-3 minutes, try leaving it on for 5 or so. Also have a helper depress the gas pedal of the car that is attached to your car when you go to turn the key
(basically have them rev it a little as you turn the key).

The above worked for me several times over the years.
