Anyone here know about Fi Audio?

I was looking at three lines of their subwoofers, the Q, BL, BTL. Which of these are better in SQ? SPL? Overall (I think BTL cus of Price)? running off of 1000 wrms. Ported box (don't know if sealed would work better for SQ or SPL?)

Re: Anyone here know about Fi Audio?

Ported works better for both overall. AS for FI ive heard good things about them but i havent had a chance to really get in depth on them, i know a couple of the other guys on here recomedn Fi whenever they get a chance.

Don't ever look at cars as just imports or domestics. Just because a car is made in a certain country doesn't mean that it is anything like another car from that country. An example of this is Mitsubishi reliability, just because they are Japanese doesn't mean that they are as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.

Re: Anyone here know about Fi Audio?

FI was started by some guys that left Re audio. the ssd are the entry level sounds. the q series are the sq subs, the bl is the daily spl subs and btl is pure spl comps. and sealed genrally means sq.

Re: Anyone here know about Fi Audio?

What do you mean by daily use? If I want the best mix of SPL and SQ do I go with the BL's?

Re: Anyone here know about Fi Audio?

it depends alot about what you think loud is. like .2 type r's off 750 was to much for me even though i am going to get louder with my next set up i am going to turn it down when not showing off. but alot will depend on which size you get,

Re: Anyone here know about Fi Audio?

daily use is just that, a pure SPL woofer is one designed for max SPL - meaning you have lots of amps, subs, power etc.. They typically don't sound all that great, and NO mid tweets can keep up with their volume levels.

oh sure they can paul. just get a pair of 12" pro audio mids and a compression driver for each side and you are good to go.

I will have a pair of 8" prosound midbass ..... the HLCD's are nasty sounding too me, too harsh - but they ARE very efficient.

Re: Anyone here know about Fi Audio?

How does the Q/BL series Fi Subs stack up against Soundsplinter? I was also looking at the Soundsplinter RL-P 15.

Re: Anyone here know about Fi Audio?

I run an fi audio btl fully loaded 18 and it sounds great. I also have team mates that have ran other models of fi and have had success. The quality of the woofers are great, but not only that you are dealing with a great company with great customer service. Fi went out of there way to help me with my setup. Great company. Now depending on what kinda of power you plan on running would determine what line of FI you should get. If you are looking for something that will take tons of power then btl is were you want to go. If you are looking for a mid line ground pounder, with about 1 or 2k of power then the bl, Q would be your sq woofer, and ssd is your entry level sub. Either way you go they are great sounding and have not let me down yet

Re: Anyone here know about Fi Audio?

I would run the bl then. This way you are give the sub a good amount of power, but if you wish to upgrade later you wont have to upgrade the sub.

Your Q series will have the best SQ by far. The BTL is geard towards SQL.
