2003 GTI 1.8T- new purchase
Hello all
i have just bought my first vw, its an 2003 GTI 1.8T silver, it has 103,000 KM on it, i'm new to the vw family, so i was wondering any helpful hints or tips i should take in to consideration i want to keep it running good which it is. i have just changed the timing belt, water pump, thermostat. i don't really know what maintenance it has been done on it. i never bought it from an VW dealer, but an used car dealership. i'm just wondering what i should change, look at, or know.? should i just change fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs ???? any help and tips to keep it running great, would be great, i love it |

Re: 2003 GTI 1.8T- new purchase
Do a tune up, hopefully it is running synthetic oil, change if frequently.
With VWs, you have to fix the problems as they appear, otherwise the car will go to crap. It takes love and dedication to own a Volkswagen. Try to use OEM parts as replacement, trust me they are better (except water pumps with plastic impellers). Look out for the plastic parts in the cooling, and vacuum system, as they become brittle over time and will need replacing soon, so don't go selling your car once they start breaking, eventually you'll just have all new ones .Good luck, and welcome to the VW ownership, hopefully you'll become a proud owner.
