How to bump up the HP in my 2.8L?
I'm thinking about getting a Holley TBI for it but I'm not sure. The claim is 25 HP increase, I find this pretty tough to believe. Has anyone on here done this? If so did you notice a sizable increase in power? What are other things people on here have done to up the power out of that little v6?

Re: How to bump up the HP in my 2.8L?
Chris,
Copter Steve again, the 2.8 in your trooper is a gm motor, same one they used in S-10 pick-ups and blazers. I looked up the cam shaft on my Napa Prolink account and they are the same. I think a really good way to up your HP is to put in a aftermarket cam shaft. If you research it you can probably find a RV cam. Another option is to buy the stock cam and have a custom grind done to it. Back in my Hi School days we hopped up a lot of 4 cyl nissan pick-ups this way. don't forget to put new lifters in with a new camshaft. Steve |
