engine and tranny swap
hi everybody! i've got a 1984 parisienne and i swaped the old 305 and th-350 for a beeffy 350 and a th-400 the only problem that i have is the old cross member wont fit the th-400 (tranny mount not a the same place 6 inches further back)any suggestions? |

Re: engine and tranny swap
It's a common "swap". Move the crossmember back and drill new holes in the frame to bolt it down. Shorten the driveshaft the appropriate amount, and iunstall the TH-400 slip-yoke.... Shift linkage and the electric kick-down switch can be an adventure!
If there's not enough "room" for the crossmember, you may need to "notch" it, and move only the section that the mount bolts to. A good fabricator may be called for. Jim |

Thanks Jim for the reply, i might go with a custom made crossmember from g-force. looks like these guys have the part that i need. preciated your help.
