96 f-150 oil pan removal
i have a 96 4.9 .do you have to pull the motor or is there room to left it up to get the pan out.it has a knock i want check the bearings and it needs a gasket

You do not have to pull the engine out.Remove the motor mount nuts which are 11/16" or 18mm for the socket size,the tin cover and starter.You have to remove the EGR valve and tube,you get more room this way.Unbolt the radatior shroud.You can jack the engine up in the truck and the pan will come out with no problems.
