Ignition Switch

1979 Crown victoria...

Ign switch is broken. I bought another one but cant get the old one out...

HELP

well the key cylinder came out.

In the process of trying to replace the key cylinder my neighbor drilled it out. Now I dont know what to do...

If the entire cylinder has come out, use a screwdriver and stick it in the slot. Twist it until the dash lights come on. Hold new cylinder and turn the key to on position. Line up cylinder with grooves and install. When it bottoms out, turn the key off and remove. This will allow the locking poin to come out and lock the cylinder in place.

if you are replacing key/tumblers.your neighbor drilled what??where you put
the key in??if so,pull steering wheel(no air bag right?)unbolt horn & turn signal sw.& move it out of way.remove lock pin/screw & pull out key/tumbler.
you have to remove turn sig. sw. & tilt levers
disconnect battery before you start Good Luck!!
