Change Ignition key mechanism
I have a 2001 grand prix gt The key will not turn the ignition no more. I know how to take the old one out but you need to turn the ignition with the key to get the old one out and I cannot. Does anyone know how to get the ignition lock out with out the key.

is this your ony key? Do you have another to try? Are your sure that its the lock cylinder thats the problem?
Did the steering wheel lock? Not to insult your intelligence, but my mom in one of her cars couldnt get a key to turn, so i went out to her car, turned the key, and at the same time turned the steering wheel back and forth. Key then worked.
