97 contour engine electrical problem

iv been trying to figure this out for monthes. the car isnt charging or something.

i'v replaced the altinator and the battery and checked all the fuses and the mega fuse and the car still isnt charging.

i'v tried disconnecting the battery while its runing and it died right away. the was to check if the car will run off the altinator.

so any help would be very greatful. -thank you

Your reasoning is backwards here. A car cannot run off the alternator alone. A car can however run off the battery, until the battery dies. Thats why theres an alternator. To keep restoring power to the battery. The car dieing when you disconnected the battery is exactly what it should do in any sort of circumstances.

Are you sure the alternator is working? If so, what have you done to test it?

Are you sure you checked the correct megafuse? If you have the V6, its on the rear valve cover. Its NOT in the fuse box underneath the hood.

i had the altinator tested. then i put a new battery in and drove it a few days and then the battery died?

thats the one by the firewall right? if so thats good; checked it with a multimeter.
