I don't know how you jumped to the conclusion that people like gw84 or myself are inconsiderate to the troubles of the world around us, but you need to reevaluate how you perceive the world around you and step down off that pedestal you've placed yourself upon. Maybe you should devote your time to helping the people in your community rather than waste your time looking for shit to complain about on AF.
amen! not sure where that Darfur comment came from Everybody has his/her pet peeve. Mine and yours, 00accord44, is our cars. You've got to consider that there are surely people who are more anal than we are!! They don't even drive their cars for fear of it getting damage. I have a friend who has a 1990 chevy truck w/ about 90k miles. To me it's just a truck, but to him........In fact it doesn't even leave the garage. It just sits. Ok I'm rambling, I'll stop.

Re: no respect

dude, dont take this shit anymore. seriously, when people do things to your car and you tell them to stop, if they dont listen it's time to RAISE your voice! i'm not saying be a tough guy or anything, but if you're unhappy about what's going on, get angry and let them know you're SERIOUS! it's not an over reaction if people constantly have little care for you and your things. people keep saying that friends are soo much more important, but i still cant understand why you would want friends who wont respect such little stupid things.

really man, save your nice words for people who deserve them, and when some shit head rubs your paint, tell him how it is. if he doesnt stop after you've let him know how serious you are, it's time to either leave or remove him. i used to be alot like this untill i understood how little certain people respected me, and started treating them the way i was treated. you just cant be a nice about things if you want to be taken seriously, and you can still be somebody's friend even if you say some nasty things to them.

Re: no respect

I thought it was generally accepted that you don't do something to someone's car that they are not doing themselves. If I'm leaning on my car, and someone comes up and leans on it, I don't care. If I'm sitting on the trunk lid, they can hop right up next to me. If I'm laying down on the hood, again they are welcome to join me. But if I'm standing there and someone walks up and leans against my car, we might have a bit of a problem.

i do devote a lot of my time to the community, both localy and beyond the borders of our nation. my 15 year old daughter is picking up on on this and is starting a support group for the "invisible children" along with her work at the food bank and homeless shelter. check it out here if you want to help: http://www.invisiblechildren.com/theMovement/
p.s. the forum sub title says "Warning: Don't get offended by what's in here."

No problem. You just came down on us extra hard, and I refuse to be villianized for my love of car care. Being the argumentative person I am, I had to come back with an equal amount of equal counter-venom.

Nevur

But speaking of community service, next weekend my coworkers and I are helping repair and rebuild a local middle school that's been run down over the years. Its not a typical weekend for me, but I do try to help out where I can... except on AF
