Problems......

Hello there everyone;

a) My ABS and Trac OFF light are both, checked the front two wheels and noticed that the passenger side. The sensor from the HUB is there but the one that it connnects to you and runs up to the engine is not there. Everytime I explain this to someone they say I need to replace the hub but the sensor on the hub is there.

b) Figured out why the service engine light came on, it was the MAF sensor. Ordered one from a fellow gtp owner and the one I recieved does not look like this (http://napaonline.com/masterpages/NO...)+Sensor+-+New) it has a black extension and i know that has to come apart because I took the old one out the only part that came out is similar to the photo except the sensor is exposed. Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you in advance for all your replies/help

Re: Problems......

Are you saying the wheel sensor is there but missing the electrical connection or what?

The MAF sensor you have is for a '99 and up Grand Prix with the SII 3800 NA and/or SC engines. The '97 and '98 models have the MAF sensor without the plastic tube so the wire element is exposed. Technically, they should not be interchanged or used.

Re: Problems......

Bascially yeah, I looked on the driver's side and noticed there was a electrical cord running up to the engine. If they are exactly the same then I am missing that electrical cord.

What can I do with the MAF sensor?

Are you sure? Sounds like you are either missing it or the electrical connector and wiring harness got disconnected and may be dangling someplace. The harness is supposed to be secured to the lower control arm with fasteners as it routes to the back of the hub.

Since you bought it from a private seller you might have to keep it as a souvenir............ Or try selling it. In any case try to get one for your year GP.
