95 PA ultra a/c fan don't work
I just bought a 95 park ave ultra that has been sitting for a year battery was replaced and the heater a/c fan don't work. I checked the motor and i get no voltage at the purple wire but the fan will run if i put 12v to it so it is not the fan motor.I heard there is a fan control module somewhere under the glove box but there are a few under there which one is it and what else can cause fan not to run?

The "blower control module", is not located under the dash, it is located on top of the fan box (under the hood) and below the fuse and relay section on the firewall. It has two wiring connectors going to it and three screws holding it in the box. You can get a new one from any dealer for around $185.00. It is such a common problem on GM cars with auto climate control, the dealers usually keep a good supply on hand. You can also check your local salvage yard, (about $50.00) they will probably have some at the front counter.
If buying from a salvage yard, use caution and insist on the same part number as the one you removed from the car . (The part number will be on the module). GM made many different controllers that look the same; however, they do not have the same part number or perform the same functions. Some have 4-pins + 2-pins and others have 3-pins + 1-pin. They all serve a different purpose. Some cars have ACC with dual control and others may have ACC, without dual control. You will need to look at the RPO code located on your spare tire cover, in order to identify the climate control system you have. Be careful when you replace the unit and be certain you have the correct module. It is better to firstremove the old unit for identification purposes, before buying a new one. Usually the resistors fail in the module and the default voltage (12V) will be directed to the blower motor, so therefore, your blower will run all the time unless you pull the fuse, disconnect the battery, or pull the plug on the fan itself. They also fail in the no run mode, or intermittent mode. The fuse is also located on the firewall in the fuse/relay panel. Pull the cover off and look inside the cover to locate the one labeled AC. It is a 25 or 30 amp fuse. If interested, I have a source for new ACDELCO modules, at about half the price of the dealer. PM me for more details.

Re: 95 PA ultra a/c fan don't work
On my car there is no fuse labled fan under the hood on the firewall and the purple and black wire go from the fan motor to the pass side thru the firewall into a harness.from there i don't know where it goes.

Do you have a fuse labeled "AC"? It will not be labeled, "fan"! If the fuse is not blown, you have a bad control module!

Re: 95 PA ultra a/c fan don't work
yes checked the fuse it is ok pulled out the fan control module and i have 12v on the red wire, ground on the black,12v on the purple wire and no volts on the striped wire. Now i have to find a module to try and see if it will work. But i am confused why i have 12 volts out of the purple wire and the fan don't run I know the fan is good.I just might put a switch with a rheostat to control the fan if i can't find a module cheep.
